Judge Information & Registration

Thank you for your interest in judging at the Milwaukee City Science and Engineering Fair. Your expertise is crucial in evaluating and encouraging our young scientists.

Registration Process

  1. Complete the registration formGo to Registration Form
  2. Review and accept the judging guidelines
  3. Attend the science fair and preceding orientation session

Qualifications

Judges may include university faculty and scientists, industrial engineers and scientists, representatives of private and federal research centers and agencies, medical researchers, post-doctoral fellows, and senior graduate students. A Judge must have one of the following qualifications:


  • Have a minimum of six years related professional experience beyond receiving their B.A., B.S., or Master's degree, OR
  • Have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent (D.O., Ed.D., D.D.S., D.V.M., etc.), OR
  • Be a current graduate student with more than four years of doctoral-level research experience or who is within one year of doctoral dissertation defense.

Judging Process

  1. Judges will be assigned to specific categories based on their expertise
  2. Each project will be evaluated by multiple judges
  3. Judges will be provided with instructions for judging, judging criteria, and a rubric
  4. Judges will caucus to determine winners
